The Central Asian Shepherd Dog (Russian: Среднеазиатская овчарка; Алабай, romanized: Sredneazïatskaya ovčarka; Alabay) is an ancient livestock guardian dog breed. Traditionally, the breed was used for guarding sheep and goat herds, as well as to protect and for guard duty.
